Cisco Switch C9200-48P Having a BUG on 16.12.2 version

Cisco Switch C9200-48P Having a BUG on 16.12.2 version

On Mar 2020, I've got 2 switch Cisco C9200-48P for my project, after some day play with him i've got problem on both sw with describe like bellow:

Symptom:
Below symptoms can be observed:

  1. Interface counters do not increment but traffic is forwarded
  2. MAC learning issue : new MACs will not be learned, existing MACs may not be aged out, and MAC moves wont be updated.
  3. Packet drops to specific hosts in subnet
  4. To simple check: In my case packet loss when i ping to my upstream ( used repeat parameter when ping on sw to see problem ).

Conditions:

Catalyst 9200L/9200 platforms running 16.12.1 or 16.12.2 or 16.12.3 or 17.1.1 or 17.2.1 versions after 7weeks of  uptime.

Workaround:

  • A reload will temporarily resolve the issue but it is expected to return after 7weeks of uptime.

Further Problem Description:

  • The fix for this defect is available in 16.12.3a and later versions. :  Cisco notice the bug can be fix when upgrade to 16.12.3a version, but this version its not work in my case, I've proved for Cisco's TAC but i dont know why wrong information is not changed. Instead, you should upgrade to 16.12.04 to fix problem (cat9k_lite_iosxe.16.12.04.SPA)
  • Also, Reload SMU (Software Maintenance Upgrade) patching for this defect is available for 16.12.1, 16.12.2 and 16.12.3.
