Windows Server 2019 - LAB03 Implementing and using remote server administration via Windows Admin Center

Windows Admin Center (WAC) is a locally deployed, browser-based app for managing Windows servers, clusters, hyper-converged infrastructure, as well as Windows 10 PCs. It is a free product and is ready to use in production. Prepare: you can go to MS official to download WAC.

Login to host that you wanna use to install Window Admin Center then double click on WindowsAdminCenter2110.msi . In my case, i used Window Server 2019 to deploy WAC.

On the Windows Admin Center Setup screen, to accept the terms, select the check box, and then select Next

Send diagnostic data to Microsoft > Click Next

On the Use Microsoft Update to help keep your computer secure and up-to-date page, select Next

On the Install Windows Admin Center on Windows Server page, select Next.

On the Install Windows Admin Center page, select Next.

On screen select port for WAC page, keep default then click Install

After installation, copy URL of your WAC then click Finish, for me the link is  https://dhvhcmwac001.dhv.local:443 ( also you can use ip address to login to WAC )

The first time login to WAC look like figue bellow:

Click to WAC server to take a look what WAC can do for you .

At Overview page you can have general of your server

You can enable & perform Remote Desktop to your server from WAC

You can add Server, Azure VMs , windows PC 10/11 , Hyper-V Cluster ...to you WAC. It's time to add my server to WAC.
Click Add Button then select Add Server

You can use IP address, import file or seach on your AD to add the server to WAC. In my case i used wildcard * to add more server to WAC

The Server that i've choose has added to WAC

On dhvhcmsrv001.dhv.local , i already have DNS server interactive with ADDS, so i'll install DNS extension ( preview ) to manage DNS server on this server.

On the upper right corner, select the Settings icon (the cog wheel)
In the left pane, select Extensions, then select DNS (preview) under Available Extensions Tag > click Install

After install DNS extension you can manage your DNS server from WAC

Also, You can install DHCP, Active Directory extensions and more....

Done.
